General Information about our Tours
Preparation is paramount with these tours; we aim to have drawn up the best plan possible. However, this is adventure which means things can change and obstacles have to be overcome. We will do as much research as possible before we go, some of the rivers and coastlines we will have explored by plane or boat before we go on an adventure but more often the paddling in these remote areas is new ground for us as well.
We aim to be the first ones to descent a river or paddle along a remote coastline.
Who are our tours for?
Our customers are independently minded adventurous spirits looking for a small kayak group tour to explore a coastline or a river. You will get an adventurous journey full with exciting experiences. People are as old as they feel –age is just a number. If you are an active individual you will definitely be surrounded by like-minded people on our tours. We care to offer something really different during your most precious time of the year.
How fit do I need to be?
A good level of fitness will help. We are paddling several hours every day and some strength and endurance does certainly no harm. This does not mean that we go on a race – we like to enjoy the journey and live every day to the fullest. We encourage you to have some kayaking experience before you come on our trips but is not necessary to be able to perform an 'Eskimo roll'. However, you need to be able to swim.
How about the guides?
Safety is paramount, the guides are all fully qualified and trained. Their minimum qualification is 3 Star. We have a minimum of one safety kayaker for every 4 boats. Depending on the tour we may have guides assisting us on land.
How long are the tours?
It depends, each tour is different. Generally speaking the adventure experiences are between one to three weeks.

Tour group size
Most of you may have been on a bus trip of some sorts with 50 other people. This is the economic way of travelling and about as far away from adventure as possible.
Our policy is to have no more than 16 customers in a group. This allows you to get to know the other travellers, get to know the country, the people and with a small kayak group we are able to reach the most remote locations.
The safety
We do not go with more than 8 double boats; 16 people. For every 4 boats we have one safety kayaker with us. Safety is paramount, if we are unsure of weather conditions, water hazards or any other problem we will not precede with the normal program. The guides have the last word and I rather prefer that they say ‘No’ if conditions do not allow for safe paddling, than taking unnessesary risks. Kayaking safety doesn't come in a box. 99.99% of it comes from alertness, experience and common sense.
What kind of food will there be?
We cook together as a team; it’s not 5 star cuisines, but healthy, nutritious food. Please keep in mind that we also have to carry all of the food in and the rubbish out. Not an easy task when we go on a multi day journey. What clothing do I need?
This is truly an adventure where you have to pack lightly. No need to pack a huge bag with clothing of all kinds. A pair of shorts, long trousers, long sleeved T-shirts, short sleeved t-shirts, a warm jumper, a rain jacket, sporty shoes are the most essential items to bring.
Sleeping arrangement
We sleep in tents at often remote beaches, campgrounds or wherever there is a spot enabling us to pitch up a tent. It is up to you if you like to share the tent or if you like to have your tent for yourself. You can bring your own tent and sleeping bags if you wish. Just keep in mind, space is limited and a big house tent is certainly a no go.
Transport
It depends a bit of where we go; depending on location we may ship the boats and equipment to the starting point of our trip. If the locations can be reached with our vans, we may bring the equipment to the starting point with our van.
Passports and Visa
We will let you know which visa is required. Please organise them on time to avoid any hiccups.
Insurance
Information about insurance will be added shortly.
